The History Education Study Program is one of the study programs established shortly after the Surabaya branch of the Malang Institute of Teacher Training and Education officially became an Independent Institution under the name Surabaya Institute of Teacher Training and Education (IKIP Surabaya) on December 19, 1964. The History Education study program itself was established on December 24, 1964 with the Decree on the Establishment of the Kepmendikbud Study Program Number 182 of 1964 under the auspices of the Faculty of Education, Surabaya Institute of Teacher Training and Education (IKIP Surabaya).

 

Currently, the History Education study program is under the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIPOL), Surabaya State University (UNESA). This study program is one of the study programs that still maintains its educational characteristics and aims to produce educators and professionals in the field of history. This study program is designed to equip students with in-depth historical knowledge, analytical skills, and the ability to teach history at the primary and secondary education levels.
